Photos shown at my local photography club on March 26th 2009. In this meeting, the club had a visitor, the well-known Dutch photographer Karel Maat.

Dublin’s Docklands lie along the River Liffey. They are a trendy, modern development area. This particular building lies directly on the Northern waterfront and is still from a previous era. Information on this building and its history is welcome.
Glendalough is in the Wicklow Mountains, to the North of Dublin. The Glendalough valley (“glen”) has the ruins of an early Christian monastery and two (“da”) lakes (“lough”). The weather was rainy and some contrast enhancement was applied to the image.
Dublin has many ornate cast iron lampposts. Some bear a symbol of Ireland: the shamrock. The actual lamp part looks much newer than the post part (roughly 1910?). The white background is the sky.
